Welcome
It has been 13 months since Cruz's kidney transplant. Cruz was able to go back to school for the last three weeks and moved on to the third grade due to his teacher Miss Tsoukalos coming to the house and using the skype program the school provided for him. Cruz's summer was very busy with trips to Hershey Medical and to his Pappy and Grandma's beach house where he fished, caught crabs & clams and spent time on the beach. He aslo rode his 4-wheeler, dirtbike and shot his new bow and 22 rifle.
Cruz's parents, Mike and Tina, applied and were picked to be counselors at Camp Kydney where they met 65 kidney patients just like Cruz. What a life changing experience for Mike, Tina, Zoe and Cruz. The Dallastown carnival moves in for a week right behind his house. Thanks to Russ Amusements for the wrist bands and the fun safe rides. Cruz also got to meet funnycar driver Cruz Pendergon at Maple Grove Nationals where Mr. Pendergon gave him a winners circle hat and parts from his car. Cruz also got to play with his dad's band, the Martini Bros. a few times.
Cruz is now back at school and doing great. Cruz just completed his sixth month of drum lessons and really enjoys it. Since Tina gave Cruz her kidney, she also has recovered and is doing well. Cruz and his family just got back from a Make-A-Wish Disney Cruise to the Bahamas where he snorkeled, swam with dolphins and ate great food. Thank you Jim, Gina, Bob, Jenn, Lisa and everyone from Make-A-Wish and Disney Cruise Lines, we had a blast.
On November 10th, Cruz was diagnosed with sclerosing cholangitis which is the narrowing of the bile ducts in the liver. The cause is unkown. Cruz will be going to the Childrens Hospital of Philadelphia on December 31, 2009.
Thanks for your prayers and support.
